August 6, 2009
Dear Parents and Friends,
Are you ready for school? It is only about two weeks away: Tuesday, August 25. Vacation
Bible School and Girls Volleyball Camp begin on Monday, August 10. There is still a lot to be
done, but when you see all the changes you will be not believe it was possible.
This is a time in our country’s history when the need for a solid Christian education could not be
greater! Our way of life is under attack on many fronts: economically, politically, morally,
spiritually, and socially.
Young people need an academic education, and we provide that. But beyond good grades,
students need a strong moral compass formed from a solid Biblical base. Most schools in our
country do not provide that. Every school has a religious base, whether secular humanism,
Biblical Christianity, or another religious system. Our school’s philosophy is that God is our
Creator, Savior, and Sustainer, as revealed in the Bible, and that a knowledge of Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior is vital for living in this world, and absolutely necessary for having eternal life
in Heaven.
The Biblical standard must not change. But the many changes we have made this summer are:
--Every class has been relocated, except Miss Traxler’s third grade class.
--We have added another secondary class, with Mr. Reynan Luluquisin, and moved three
secondary classes to the school building. Two classes remain in the church building,
lower level.
--The school office with Mrs. Samaniego and Miss Tina (or Mrs. Gonzalez, her new
married name) is in the small office to the right as you come into the school main door,
and the Kindergarten class will be where the office was.
--The church and financial office, with Miss Martha and Mrs. Engle, is in the church
lower level.
--The lunch room is now in the church building, lower level, and the school lunch room
will be Mrs. Luluquisin’s fourth grade class.
--Mrs. Becky Adkins will be a new helper in the preschool, which is changing rooms
with Miss Huddleston’s first grade class.
--Mrs. Newport, our substitute from last year, will be teaching second grade in place of
my daughter Andrea, who is now married to Michael Gray and living in Elk Grove,
California. She is helping in the church and Christian school there. They are doing very
well -- thank you for asking.
--Miss Cora will be the substitute for this year.
--Miss Martha, our new church secretary, will be teaching high school Home Economics.
She is also fluent in Spanish.
